PERLA LICHI DESIGN

ALL THAT SHINES By Perla Lichi. The luxuriously upholstered dining room chairs surround a bespoke table, topped with silver and bronze edged mirror inserts. "I want to focus on the details," says interior designer Perla Lichi, who explains that, although with dramatic draping, she maintains the sobriety of the window fabrics. ALTHOUGH NOWADAYS, BEING FASHIONABLE USUALLY MEANS INDUSTRIAL, sober, monochromatic... With prominent, angular lines and furniture, there are still those who argue that beauty is anything but. That was the aesthetic sought by a Guyanese family who described to interior designer Perla Lichi the timeless, classic, and utterly luxurious vision they had for their 15,000-square-foot estate, which would be both an entertainment center and their home in Guyana. Lichi is a designer who has made "palace style" her hallmark. It has built relationships with manufacturers and artisan workshops around the world to create handcrafted pieces, from pietra dura floors to hand-chiseled mouldings and bespoke wallpapers with embedded crystals. Its woods come from Brazil, Ecuador and Indonesia; the crystal of Dubai; and the marble of Italia. No it is surprising that the owners, who were looking for a regal opulence to receive their guests, found in Lichi the perfect option. In short, a palatial creation, inspired by the past and updated in the present, which demonstrates how a great vision can inspire both the hand and the soul......... CHAPALA FROM THE AIR. By Verónica Guerra de Alberti.

CHAPALA FROM THE AIR. By Verónica Guerra de Alberti. On our recent visit to Guadalajara, at D'CASA, Ana Reyes and I had the great fortune to meet Mercedes and Xavier Aguilar, great friends with magnificent hospitality. Xavier decided to take us to see Chapala from the air. The Chapala Aeroclub is a very exclusive and, therefore, small club. It exudes an atmosphere of tranquility, that calm that the good life gives you. It's a family space where different generations share the same passion: flying! Seeing the lightness with which these ultralights move, the enthusiasm of the children waiting for their turn, and the natural way in which parents and grandparents approached them as if they were simply going to the parking lot to get their car—only this time it wasn't a car, but an incredible ultralight—there was simply no way I could refuse to fly. At first, it feels like riding a three-wheeled scooter: light and agile. At first, I didn't dare look down, but Xavier began showing me the majestic landscape of Chapala from the air, home to Mexico's largest lake, 80 km long and 20 km wide. Chapala is a paradise with a unique history, surrounded by magical towns. Xavier pointed out iconic places like El Manglar, Porfirio Díaz's summer home, the Chapala Yacht Club, and of course, the endless and imposing lake, surrounded by majestic nature and accompanied by White-faced pelicans. Upon disembarking, we enjoyed, at the traditional Yacht Club, the unforgettable fried charales and some exquisite fish roe tacos, known as Chapala caviar. My best recommendation: If you can, see Chapala from the air! ……….. BE PART OF THE SUCCESS. dcasamagazine.com
