D'Casa Events - The 19th edition of the Riviera Maya Jazz Festival is being prepared

Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, November 3, 2021. The ideal combination of jazz and the beauty of the Mexican Caribbean will come together again from November 25 to 27 to give life to another edition of one of the most anticipated events by lovers of music and destination: the Riviera Maya Jazz Festival, this being the 19th time that great artists of international stature will delight their audience for free.



In a virtual press conference, the director of the Tourism Promotion Council of Quintana Roo, Darío Flota Ocampo, commented: “Continuing with such a diverse jazz festival with great talents has been a challenge now more than ever, however, the thousands of fans who look forward to this event with so much anxiety every year, look for a way to see it and connect with the Riviera Maya ”.



The Riviera Maya Jazz Festival is one of the most important references in the world of jazz at an international level, and has positioned the Riviera Maya as a tourist destination with a large presence in the United States and Canada. It is a reflection of the innovative, strong and artistic personality of the destination, as well as being a sign of perseverance, passion and working together to keep alive one of the most vibrant musical traditions of the Mexican Caribbean.

It should be noted that, in alliance with the federal Ministry of Culture, the Solidarity City Council and the Municipal Institute of Culture and Arts, with the aim of strengthening the festival and showing the versatility and cultural richness of the destination, from November 4 to 21 They will carry out 58 musical presentations, educational concerts, master classes and conferences in various stages of the municipality such as the Fundadores Park, the Plaza 28 de Julio, the Municipal School of Artistic Initiation located in the Colonia Bellavista, the Playa del Carmen Cultural Center, as well like the City Theater.



The talents that will give life to the 19th edition of the Riviera Maya Jazz Festival on the stage of the City Theater of Playa del Carme will be: the versatility of the Bria Skonberg Quartet; Grammy-nominated saxophonist Ravi Coltrane; Mexican songwriter and singer Dannah Garay and 2021 Grammy winners Kurt Elling Feat Charlie Hunter with their most recent production: Super Blue.



During the 3 days of the festival, Jazz will be performed in the 5th; a musical and thematic parade on Fifth Avenue by the Zaikocirco group and the beach group 20 Varos, who will offer a live show of circus music and arts; In addition, bars and restaurants will join this party around jazz and its community with the presentation of local bands.


Likewise, Midnight Jam Sessions will be held by the Riviera Maya All Stars band made up of Elizabeth Meza, Alejandro Campos, Mark Aanderud, Luri Molina and Giovanni Figueroa; said night sessions will be broadcast live through the festival's official accounts. The members of this jazz quintet are some of the masters representing contemporary Mexican jazz, who also stand out for their internationalization and versatility in terms of musical genres that they have performed throughout their artistic career.



A series of innovative technical resources will be used to offer a different listening experience, exploring immersive audio (or 3D sound), which will be available during the transmission and is perceived with the use of headphones. On the other hand, it will be possible to listen to the broadcast in HD sound in ordinary version for the public that does not want to listen to 3D audio.
