At a press conference, Julián Aguilar Estrada, rector of the Technological University of Cancun, stressed the importance of this international event for our city, since “a society like ours needs to be energized through art and music… as a university it we are committed to a comprehensive education and our alliance with this festival is proof of that ”.

For his part, Julio González, director of Arpa Fest, thanked the support of the Technological University of Cancun, which said “this alliance allowed obtaining financial support from the Federal Secretary of Culture through the call for support to cultural and artistic festivals PROFEST, who allocated $ 497,080 pesos to our festival, which is used exclusively for the payment of fees for our artists.

Marcela Torres, director of the Cancun House of Culture, affirmed that Arpa Fest is the result of a history of tenacity. She highlighted the important work of independent cultural promoters and managers in our city and recognized that this festival “has created an audience for an instrument as important to popular culture as the harp. Thanks to Julio González and the international musicians that we have listened to in the last seven years, today we also know that the harp is also concert music ”.
